Favourite Show-

Almost impossible but ‘A Kick in the Baubles’ is right up there. Love Sondheim  musicals for the combination of acting and singing challenge, and a good Ayckbourn is a joy for audience and performer alike. The challenge of new writing, yummy..

Writer. Stage Manager, Properties Manager, Sound Recording, Poster Design, Programme Design, Set Design and Publicity. Also was the Bookings and Promotions Manager for Old Forge Productions. Nikki has also filmed a local commercial for MYScunthorpe.com

Favourite Show-

Has to be ‘A Kick in the Baubles’. Brilliant show, brilliant cast, and it brought our wonderful team together for the first time.

Likes -

Trashy American television, cheese and red wine (oh and my children of course!)

    For many years it was 'Allo ''Allo. This has recently been replaced by 'A Kick in the Baubles' because Frank was a fantastic character to play. I was able to talk to and interact with the audience, and be a grumpy old man.

    A professional Stage Manager and Sound/Lighting Engineer, John has over 10 years extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of theatre. He has worked with touring companies and in a receiving house, with both professional and amateur companies. Most recently he toured as  Company and Technical Stage Manager for the comedy play ‘Cissie and Ada: A Hysterical Rectomy’, with a cast including Steven Arnold (Ashley - Coronation Street), Eric Potts (Diggory - Coronation Street) and Steve Nallon (Spitting Image).

    John has been fortunate enough to tour and work in some amazing venues in the UK including The Lowry Salford, Buxton Opera House, Theatre Royal Lincoln, Dukes Playhouse Lancaster and Darlington Civic. John hopes to get involved with and develop his knowledge of the ‘creative’ side of the business in his time with Square One Productions.


    Sarah is a multi talented local performer. Trained in dance from an early age and an experienced singer, Sarah first crossed paths with Andy and Nikki in a Town Production on Canterbury Tales.

    '2 Glasses & A Bottle of Red' was a long overdue and welcome return to the stage for Sarah who has spent the last few years focusing on family and her career.



    Horror author Nathan Robinson lives in Scunthorpe with his darling four year old twin boys, his patient wife/editor and a three legged cat named Dave. So far he’s had numerous short stories published by www.spinetinglers.co.uk, Rainstorm Press, Knight Watch Press, Pseudopod, The Horror Zine, Static Movement and many more. He writes best in the dead of night or travelling at 77mph. He is a regular reviewer for www.snakebitehorror.co.uk, which he loves because he gets free books. He likes free books.

    His first novel “Starers” was released by Severed Press to rave reviews. This was followed by his short story collection “Devil Let Me Go.” from which 'In One Form or Another' is adapted.     Mike is a stalwart of the Scunthorpe theatre scene, despite not starting (serious) acting until he was 40, he has graced the stage in many a lead role including ‘Ray Say’ (Little Voice), Frank (Educating Rita), Julian Marsh (42nd Street) and Bobby (Run for Your Wife). A wonderful character actor, he exudes charisma and can breathe life into any performance, his preference being musicals and comedies. Mike is also very proud of his theatrical dynasty which includes son Nathan, who is a Musical Director, and daughter Laura who teaches dance.

    Despite ‘retiring’ several times, Mike is looking forward to returning to the stage with Square One, and we are delighted to have him.


    Guy initially became interested in photography many years ago when he was a Communication Officer in the army and has since built up an extensive portfolio of dazzling images. Guy is also involved in local theatre and has been Stage Manager and Sound Engineer for many local groups, as well as capturing images of many shows, including Wilton and the annual panto starring 'Annie Fanny'.

    His favourite subject to photograph is the theatre, actors and dancers both on and off stage.

    Richard James is a professional actor and playwright, having graduated from the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 1992. His film credits include Great Expectations opposite Helena Bonham Carter, a live action version of The Wind In The Willows with the Monty Python team and A Lover's Prayer with Kirstin Dunst.

    A prolific writer, his plays have been performed all around the UK as well as abroad - from Australia to the USA. They are mostly broad comedies with a bit of a bite, from the family gathering on a Yorkshire hillside to bury a dead man's ashes (Happy Campers), to a famous actor solving  a murder at a village fete (A Fete Worse Than Death). ‘I Am Hamlet’ won has won 2 Best Actor awards as well as The Jim Porteous Trophy (2nd) at the Scottish One Act Play Festival finals 2012 and the Wakefield Quaich Award for Presentation at the Scottish One Act Play Festival, 2011.

    His TV credits include ‘The Mysti Show’, ‘Sir Gadabout – The Worst Knight in the Land’,‘Space Precinct’ and Crossroads! On stage, he has toured the UK in a theatre production of the cult TV show Thunderbirds, played parts at Derby's Playhouse and Newcastle-Under-Lyme's New Vic Theatre and taken the title role his own play ‘The Mystery of Sherlock Holmes’ at the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe.

    Alan is a joiner and carpenter by trade as well as an experienced Project Manager. He owns his own company, Alan Borrill's Kitchens & Joinery. We are very lucky to welcome Alan to the team as our Set Designer and Head of Construction.


    Adam owns his own company 'Destiny Events Management' and provided lights for our debut shows at Scawby and Kirton.


    Angie is a keen theatre-goer and takes on the thankless task of Front of House when required.
